Date
Wednesday, 21 October 2026 • 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Location
Wellington CBD, Wellington
InternetNZ, Level 13, 18 Willis Street, Wellington

Sec for Devs, a Wellington community for developers who want to learn about and discuss secure coding, hosts a talk by Hugh Davenport on reverse engineering old games. He'll take the audience on a journey from the 1990s to 2026, describing a project that reverse engineered an old DOS game to build a level editor, with some assembly language, dragons, the odd spider and plenty of retro graphics along the way. Hugh is an experienced security professional who has worked as a developer, a penetration tester and a system administrator.

The talk is on Wednesday 21 October from 5pm to 6:30pm at InternetNZ, Level 13, 18 Willis Street, Wellington, with entry open until 5:30pm. It's free with an RSVP on Meetup (limited to 70 places), and suits developers, security practitioners and anyone keen to network with like-minded people.
