Tuesday, 27 October 2026 • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
Basestation, 148 Durham Street, Tauranga
Women & Non-Binary in STEM TGA hears from community member Kirsty Elliott about Chirp Up, the startup she began working on last year. Chirp Up is a mindfulness and emotional wellbeing app for children aged 0 to 12 that blends storytelling, emotional development and creative play, drawing on Kirsty's background in high-performance media and her postgraduate studies in psychology. Kirsty will talk about what inspired her to start, the motivations behind the app, the challenges she has faced along the way, and her ambitions for the platform as she takes it from concept towards something real.
The talk is on Tuesday 27 October 2026 at Basestation, 148 Durham Street, Tauranga, with doors open at 5pm, a 5:15pm start and finish at 7pm. Entry is free with registration on Eventbrite, light refreshments are provided, and parking in the Tauranga CBD is free after 5pm. It's hosted by Women & Non-Binary in STEM TGA, a community for women and non-binary people working in, studying or interested in STEM in the Tauranga area.
