Level Up: Q&A with CODE's Tim Ponting

Auckland Makes Games' monthly Level Up session hosts Tim Ponting, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Centre of Digital Excellence (CODE), the government-funded economic development initiative tasked with helping build a sustainable game development ecosystem in Aotearoa. Tim will give a brief update on CODE's present activities and future plans, then open the floor to questions about CODE and its operations. Tim is a video game industry veteran of more than 35 years, including five years as European PR Director for Activision, and has invested in video game projects and studios in Aotearoa since 2018.

The session is on Wednesday 28 October 2026 in the WG403 Lecture Theatre at Auckland University of Technology, 55 Wellesley Street, Auckland. Doors open at 6pm, the presentation starts at 6:15pm and the evening wraps up at 8pm. It's free to attend with an RSVP on Meetup and is aimed at game developers, artists and anyone interested in the local games industry; attendees agree to follow Auckland Makes Games' Code of Conduct and Photography Policy.
