Part 2 of the Raising Capital Series covers what investors check during due diligence and which documents founders should have ready once an investor is interested. Topics include preparing a due diligence folder, what goes into an Information Memorandum, legal gaps that can stall a deal such as shareholder agreements, constitutions and IP not properly transferred to the company, confirming ownership of work done by suppliers and contractors, burn rate, runway, forecasts and valuation, why investors weigh the team as well as the idea, and what term sheets contain and what follows signing. The session includes time for questions and has no pitching.
This free one-hour webinar runs online via Zoom from 5pm to 6pm on Thursday 12 November, with the link emailed the day before. It is hosted by Startup Queenstown Lakes with Mainland Angel Investors and Flying Kiwi Angels, and presented by Peter Ramsay, Network Manager at Mainland Angel Investors, and Wayne Hudson, Director of whIPit Limited, Flying Kiwi Angels Associate and a commercial and corporate lawyer with over 35 years' experience. It suits founders preparing to raise investment, and you do not need to have attended Part 1.
