Kura Reo Hangarau is a one-day online wānanga from Te Hapori Matihiko, designed to help the hapori kōrero Māori in a safe and supportive space. It is a rumaki (te reo Māori immersion) day, and the classes focus on hangarau (technology) to support people in their mahi. Topics include kupu hangarau (technology vocabulary), language planning and crafting mihi, along with practical kōrero about te ao matihiko (the digital world) and using online tools in everyday life. All levels are welcome, from beginners to confident speakers, with a rōpū for each.
It runs online via Zoom from 9am to 3:30pm (with breaks) on Tuesday 3 November, and the access link is emailed before the day. Tickets are $50 per person, and 10 free places are available for rangatahi or Hapori members who are not in work or are on a low income (email [email protected]). The wānanga is open only to members of Te Hapori Matihiko, so non-members need to join first, and spaces are limited.
