Date
Tuesday, 13 October 2026 • 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Location
Auckland CBD, Auckland
GridAKL / John Lysaght, 101 Pakenham Street West, Wynyard Quarter, Auckland 1010

An evening panel from Creative HQ and FinTechNZ, part of Auckland Startup Week, on why payments was the easy part for New Zealand fintech and how the next wave of startups will be built on open data and digital identity rather than transactions. Drawing on Theme 4 of the FinTechNZ Insights Report, Innovation in Financial Services, it looks at why B2B, wholesale and core infrastructure remain under-served and how clear licensing and sensible guardrails could unlock confidence and capital. The panel features Sasha Lockley (CEO, Money Sweetspot), Adrian Smith (CEO, BlinkPay) and Nicola Raynes-Pene (Partner and National Industry Lead for Financial Services, KPMG).

It runs from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Tuesday 13 October 2026 at GridAKL / John Lysaght, 101 Pakenham Street West, Wynyard Quarter, Auckland. It is free to attend, with drinks and nibbles provided, and bookings are made through the Auckland Startup Week programme. It is aimed at founders building in and around financial services, investors, regulators and corporate innovators.
