KiwiHacks Nova Auckland 2026

KiwiHacks Nova Auckland is a free 24-hour hackathon for high school students, one of three Nova events across Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland run by KiwiHacks, New Zealand's first high school hackathon club, built and run entirely by teenagers. Teams have 24 hours to build an app, game, website, hardware project or something completely new. Mentors are on hand throughout and beginner-friendly workshops mean no prior experience is needed.

It runs from 9am on Friday 9 October to 11am on Saturday 10 October 2026 at MIT Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae, 53 Otara Road, Ōtara, starting with a pōwhiri and finishing with a judges expo and prizegiving. Attendance is free, with food, drinks and swag included, and the venue is supervised around the clock for those staying overnight. It is open to any high school student in New Zealand aged 13 to 18, coming solo or with a team of friends.
